The thing they don’t tell you is that you see it coming
That you feel it coming
Like you are chained to a chair watching an apple rote
Only that, the Apple is you
And even if you were released from your chains
You wouldn’t stop watching
Like it wasn’t you that
Nature was having its pick at
Like it wasn’t you the flies had found a new home in
Like it wasn’t you
Rotten away

A wise man once said a child cannot see what an elder can
Standing from the highest iroko tree
Makes sense to me
As they have two different view points
The elder for example can see the tinny details from the ants to the bush meat running around
He can see the flow nature intended and he is wise because, by being on the ground
He is one with the earth, solid as a rock
While the child feels nature in another way
The wind is always blowing on his face while he sits in the iroko tree
He sees the endless horizons and the beauty of God’s creation far and wide
The possibilities of over flowing potential in the villages far and wide
He sees the eagle aiming at the elder
The elder sees the snake climbing the tree aiming for the foot of the child

That’s my favourite time
The night is dark
The moon is out in full beam
The stars scream of worlds, yet to be discovered
And the quite
How I love the quite
When the hustle and bustle of the days is gone
And all that is left is fresh air and a cool breeze

You are not 7am when the wonder, that is the sunrise, happens
You are not midday when the sun’s perfect yellow light fills us with joy
Or 5pm when sun shows us a range of colours perfectly crafted by God, as it says it’s goodbyes
But you are 10:45pm a mark at the end of a range of dark
That shows the hidden beauties missed in sunlight
Oh your eyes against that dark , the stars in them can’t help but show off
Against that prefect platte
That smooth as a jewel platte
That skin
That ebony
That calm
That shine
That beauty
That Dark
